Greetings from a first time poster!

Hoping to return to the 944 clan in the near future, having owned a series 2 car some 15 years or so ago. Thinking of a series 1 car this time, but from what I'm seeing in the classifieds, it seems most will have cracked dashes by now. Is this the case, and either way, what are the options for repairing, other than the 'dash carpet' approach?

All views gratefully received!

Rich

Top Gaiters offer a full leather dash cover. A few people have bought them - Im not sure whether anyone has fitted one to a series one car yet.

Theyre about £130 which is good compared to the rather poor hard covers (which don't seem to be available now - replaced by nasty GRP copies for the same money which need painting FFS!).

A leather dash is very smart, too.

Thanks for the reply,

Hmm: looks pretty good in theory (and definitely an improvement on dash mats), but I'd imagine in practice it would be tricky to get a good fit.

The point is moot for me now, since I've just 'invested' in an '87 oval dash car. Should be picking it up end of next week: very excited to be getting behind the wheel of Stuttgart's finest once again!

cheers..Rich
