I was thinking I was being clever by polishing my slightly fooked one, but have managed to make it completely fooked instead...

So, I'm after a left hand/nearside lamp unit or glass... Anyone got a spare kicking around??

Cheers

Greg

what have you done to it to make it un-useable, broken it??

I polished up the fogs on my 968 by grinding off the surface to get rid of most of the pitting then polished them with CeriGlass and a Rayon pad on the DA worked quite well

Same thing but mine had a few stone chips in it, one of which was my downfall ...

I was using cerium oxide paste and a hard felt pad to do the polishing. The first half went reasonably well, but I think I let it get too hot on one place and it cracked from one of the chip holes down to the bottom of the glass. It's still in one piece so I might just leave it as it is and throw a bit of helicopter tape over it ...

I have a pair of complete units £110 each delivered.

I think the screws that hold the two parts together are likely seized so will need sorting to be right, hence the lower price. good unseized items are £200 a side these days.

can get detailed pics if required.

Nick ...

The other half of my pair is in decent nick so I'd prefer to have one without too much gravel rash (hence my polishing project) - how are yours??
