Hello all! After a summer of happy 944 ownership and motoring I washed her and parked her up in the garage. Was in the garage this afternoon and decided to start her up to get her up to temp and move her about a little. When I went to start her the ignition sent power but I was greeted by a sound of tapping metal and the engines not starting. Would we say this is a seized starter motor? Strange sound and ignition working. |

Your the second person to say battery. Maybe it is, it sounded a pretty aggressive sound for a flat battery. Will jump it this week, see what happens. |

Yep flat bat probably due to alarm drain. |

Was just thinking though, the radio came on and all the dash lights were as bright as normal. I guess I'll know once I've tried jumping it. |

If your car sounded like the beginning of the following video (bar the beeping noise) your issue is almost certainly a flat battery. It does not take alot of power to run a HU but it does take far more to turn a car over, especially now that the weather has taken a turn for the cold. http://youtu.be/S7g7RzkFcFA?t=1m21s |
