Just picked up my first 944 at the weekend and I'm absolutely loving it! want to drive it as it is for the first few months and sort out any niggling problems. The first one I've noticed is quite a lot of vibration at idle (around 900rpm), when i give it a bit of throttle the vibration disappears. The seller did replace the engine mount however the vibration is still there.....any thoughts? Thanks in advance |

A couple of thoughts. These engines are very sensitive to ignition condition so new plugs & a good hard look at the dizzy cap, rotor arm & leads. I wonder if it has a low speed misfire. Also worth starting it up at night with the bonnet open & seeing if you're getting arching from the leads. Second thought is possibly a sticky injector, might be worth shoving a decent fuel flush through it. Finally the balance belt may have skipped a tooth or two. When were the belts & tensioners last done? |
