 Post subject: 944 Turbo handbrake lever / release knob

The knob on the end of my handbrake just shot it's self in to orbit. I've recovered all the parts it shot across the car but is this repairable or f**ked as i believe the correct technical term to be?

I think you may be correct however since my knob has never shot into orbit I couldn't honestly say! Your post made me laugh however!

I think that the release knob screws on. I bought an alloy one for my 968 years ago, but couldn't get the old one off (didn't try too hard), so it never got fitted.

have to careful screwing you knob off, they break really easy

It's burgundy colour. Looks like the plastic thread inside the knob has just given out after all these years. Might fix with a bit of araldite stuck inside as a quick fix.

Had the same problem soon after I bought my 944 and I made a nice shiny alloy one to replace the pesky placky one.
