Afternoon all I fitted some new, aftermarket, hatch struts in the summer. I get the distinct impression that the rear de-mister, although still working, is less efficient than in used to be. The new struts came with all the appropriate connectors but I did notice the arms are black and look coated in something, maybe a very thin plastic whereas the OEM ones have chrome coloured arms. Could this cause an issue? Anybody have any experience of this, any suggestions? Cheers Stuart |

Worth taking a closer look at the ground connection, does it ground through the strut, or does it have a separate ground wire - I can't remember off hand? |

I had the same problem with aftermarket struts, the problem was the earthing tag connection on the strut itself which was never really effective. I ended up getting some originals and the problem was cured. |

I think the struts I have are not providing a great earth which is a shame as the boot pops open when you press the button! I will have a closer look at the connections and see if they can be improved in any way. Cheers Stuart |
