Just fitted a panel filter to my 944t. Not driven car far, but found a page on the interweb advising that oil droplets get onto the maf sensor and cause power loss. Anyone had any bad experience with KN ? thanks. |

As you may know the oil droplet issue is not really an issue with a 944 since they all came with AFMs (unless of course the car got changed to a MAF via a conversion). From what I can tell the droplet issue was mostly down to peeps over oiling their filters. |

I've been running a k&n panel and a maf for 3 or 4 years. Have cleaned and oiled the filter several times with no issues. As Chas says, don't over oil it and you should be fine. Stuart |

I've just installed K&N in my 968 (in the last couple of weeks) and some [very sound] words of advice I had was don't over oil it as it gets in the throttle body and all over the MAF, the exact words were "really don't like them its to easy to over oil the things then that oil gets in your AFM and throttle body, YUCH". Also got one in the 2004 MX5..... Both have been great so far... |

cheers guys.... have to say the car does not feel as perky as it did... going to swap back to the std filter & see if I notice any difference again... I also need to renew all the vacumn lines and replace the std recirculating BOV as all look a bit aged... |
