Hi Everyone,
My 944 S2 cabriolet develops a juddering/heavy vibration after hard acceleration when reaching 5,000 revs or more.

It then chugs along and can take some time to disappear or not disappear at all.

If I stop and turn the engine off and then back on it can sometimes still be there or will have disappeared.

Does anyone have any thoughts please?

It's going into a garage soon anyway to put it on a dyno and will then have a phased programme of works to bring it up to a better running and cosmetic standard.

Thanks
Paul

Balance shaft or belt related problem maybe?

+1 for balance shaft/belt, pop the belts cover off to see if the belt is still there for starters.

Ok thanks to you both.

The other issue I have is a vibration and grinding electrical noise when trunking the steering wheel...

I have doubts about it being the balance belt as it would not go if you stop and restart the engine

Engine mounts might recover after a lot of stress
