Big smell of petrol coming from tank, obviously venting problem,Whats any idea what to look for.

Seal on the fuel level sender

Is there pressure in the tank when you take the cap off, if so I would suggest the carbon canister gets a look at

My fuel return pipe ( from the engine ) had split at the top of the sender unit.Lift the rubber bung on the boot floor to see the sender unit and see if it is leaking petrol there.
