Sorry not for me, I had considered some original Fuchs for mine in silver put me right off now black Fuchs would have looked better IMHO

No, I don't like that. It's too old-v-modern. I intended to put a set of new 17" Fuchs on my 951, black centres of course. |

LOL ! Dont care about changing your minds, but you guys have some weird points of view. I can understand the like of originality(value?) when retaining some aspects of the cars. But how can you look at thos big goofy tires on those small cheap(yes they cost peanuts) OEM wheels and say...no..the fuchs style wheels that cost much more than the standard wheels with elegant proportions look cheap.. Like i said, i dont care about changing your minds or having a debate, but i think you guys are missing the point. The 924 is not a monumentally expensive uber rare classic car, as a matter of fact neigther is the 911...so there is little reason in retaining its obsolete form when the world has moved forward. The only reason they put 14" rims and goofy tires on the 924 is because they were cheap and there were seriously bad roads 30 years ago. I like that car, i think it looks MUCH better than the factory car, it does the best of the great 924 body. Remember, metal alloy is a noble material, rubber is just rubber...

Give me large profile tyres for ride quality and progressive grip loss anyday of the week on UK roads. The roads these days are worse than when I first started biking in 1993.... |

I think your point of view is weird, in my opinion those wheels look horrendous and cheap. The teledials look much better. Oh, and while I'm here the 924S is pretty rare, there are only 178 left on the road in the UK, so i think you have missed the point... |

Yes, the roads now are in a much worse state of repair than when I started driving in 1971. The methods for resurfacing are now best described as cheap, instantaneous and non-resilient cr*p. Apart from the fact that those wheels just look plain wrong, low profile tyres will compromise ride quality and if the arch filling wheel/tyre combination results in a larger rolling diameter, acceleration will suffer |

Roads in europe have become better and better(at least where i go about)..sorry to hear its going the other way in UK. For everyday i also have the passat with fluffy suspension and goofy tires...and it makes sense because its a confortable wagon...not a sports car. But for the 924, if overall diameter is maintained(and it is, thats why low profile tires) then the performance is better, car turns sharper and feels more crisp, allowing for better feel of the road...if the roads are good enough. What i'm also looking at is the proportion of metal vs rubber.....and since metal is nicer -> more metal = more nice  I like the phone dials very much myself, i'd love a set of 16" for my silver 931. |

God those aftermarket wheels are horrendous. They'll also destroy the ride with the low profile tyres & I suspect being aftermarket they'll be very heavy so ruin the handling by increasing unsprung weight. Short of a suspension redesign they won't improve anything dynamically. |

I had 16 inch cup wheels on the 924s race car when it was delivered, with Michelin low profile Pilot Cup Sports. The car was over tyres and under steered. I changed to 15 x 8 wheels and less low profile Toyo tyres and the handling was much improved. It's not just the looks! |
