After discovering the source of my front end knock to be (I think at least) excess play in my shock absorber top bushing, I'm facing the prospect of replacing the units. There's no point in scouring Ebay for used units as they'd doubtless be just as fucked as the ones I'm replacing, so it's looking a lot like I'll be changing the cartridges.

I'm not looking for ultimate sports performance although I'd like - as we all do - to try and keep the sports feel of the car. Koni's are out of my budget and frankly probably beyond my ability to appreciate their potential which leaves Bilstein or Sachs units. The Billies will be about a ton apiece while I think I can get a pair of the Sachs units for the cost of one Bilstein ...

Thoughts..??

Thoughts: Bilsteins are far superior to Konis. Consider Spax too.

Not being rude but for a cab I'd go with OEM replacements from ECP or similar. They'll be Boge or Sachs & will be a vast improvement on the knackered ones you have now.

I've found some Sachs gas struts for a whisker under £50.00 each delivered...

Any advantage/disadvantage over the oil filled equivalent??
