Post subject:  944S2 headlights poor
Switched my headlights on today and they are crap.

Is this normal?

If so is there a decent fix?

Check your earths and the cables that go into the headlamp pods.They flex and oxidise whilst outwardly appearing OK.Alternatively , do as I did and fit a HID kit :D

You'll find the earths bolted to the chassis next to the light pods. With the lights raised, the N/S one can be seen bolted to the side of the area that your air filter is in. 2 brown wires secured with a 10mm bolt I think. Just to the left hand side as you look in, just left of the wiring harness for the lamp. Not sure if there is another one for the O/S lamp, if so it will be similarly located.

Earths sorted,one bolt was very corroded,cleaned all the contacts and put back together with copperslip.
New bulbs also fitted
Seem to be better so was worth it

There is a wiring kit from Rennbay which helps reduce the voltage drop at the bulbs, worked well on mine or you could make your own.
