Hey all,

So a few days ago I decided to replace the passenger side wing mirror glass. It has had a temporary piece of glass stuck on since I got the car, it didn't cover the whole thing and it was annoying me so I got a replacement mirror from Ebay, but the fitting for the motor was not on it, so I ordered one from PorscheShop, 50 pounds! Still does not have the correct fixing....

So my question is annoyingly simply...what do I need to afix the damn mirror to the motor?

Thanks C

Have you considered taking the driver's side one off to compare?

Yeah, I thought about it...but I am going to call Jaz in Wembley first since they fitted a new motor only a few months ago.

So it turns out that the garage have fitted a motor for the wing mirror for a 911. Part Number 965 624 049 02. Why I have no idea!

I spoke to Porsche and it seems I would need the Electric Installation Set:
944 731 027 01 - Motor 156.86 GBP
944 731 035 02 - Glass 51.71 GBP

So now I am thinking I need to look for the glass that matches the above part number! But it will have to wait until pay day now!

I've got a spare glass number 944 731 035 02 - and a nearside electric wing mirror (with no motor in it) that looks the same colour as your car. They've been sat in a draw for over two years. You can have them for the postage.

It doesn't need to be electric though. Mine's not, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle when I replaced it, and I've probably only adjusted it about three times in three years anyway.

e-mail johnward1@btinternet.com to take it further.
