Hi all,

I'm after a cover for my 944 Cab for the winter as the car will be outdoors all the time.

I've been looking at Classic Additions (http://www.classicadditions.co.uk) and there are plenty of choices:
Standard or Custom, Breathable or not etc.

So, just wondered if anyone has bought one of these or indeed any other cover and can say how good or bad it was.

Thanks

I had (still have but don't use) a Classic Additions "Ultimate" outdoor cover and really didn't like it. It was a poor fit and didn't seem to perform very well at all in terms of water protection.

Both my "toy" cars (Merc and the 944) are now using "Stormforce" covers from http://www.cover-zone.com/stormforce-car-covers.htm which I find are much better. It's actually my second "Stormforce" for the 944, the first eventually succumbed to the neighbourhood cats after a couple of years of good service.

Whatever brand you go for "breathable" is essential.

might sound stupid but what do you want the cover to do ?

If it's just to stop any water ingress, i'd just go for a top cover

Thanks guys,

I guess I'm thinking the car wont be used very often over the winter and I want to protect it from the weather, leaves, bird sh1t and cats.

I'm not one for washing cars very often - especially when its cold & wet.

having never owned a convertible before I'm not really sure how the hood will suffer from all the above.

I did consider the top cover option but suspected that there may be chafe marks from the straps ??

Any further advice will be warmly accepted.

I had a Storm force cover for one of my cars (now sold). It was an excellent cover. You must fit the cover snuggly to the body to minimise movement of the cover on the paint work.

Also the paint work needs to be spotlessly clean to prevent the cover scratching the paint.

I think mine was the all season one the monsoon.
