Well it looks as though I've caught some of Jonathon's bad luck (sorry JJ). Had some new tyres fitted saturday and thought all was well. Fast forward to today and I stopped off for fuel to discover this.. (see pics) Now I know it was not me. To me it's fairly obviously either jacking damage or they ran over something in the workshop (either is possible as they are a bunch of cowboys having watched them at work!!) I am livid. The garage in question is denying all responsibility (surprise surprise). Thankfully Black Circles (tyre supplier) are chasing it up and have already had an independent workshop back up my suspicions i.e. they jacked it up on the sill!! Watch this space! ![]()

Their intention was to use the jacking points. However it was their apprentice who did the fitting (god only knows why it wasn't someone more experienced!) As it's only one side I wonder if they damaged it backing it off the ramp . I recall them revving it hard in short bursts upon starting it up, which could have meant the jack was still under it , or something was stuck anyway. Either way, I'm very saddened that people can treat others' treasured posessions in such a way. Particularly when the cost of any repair can be ruinous ![]() Adam |

That's just ridiculous never seen anything like that before so I reckon it could of been jacked up wrong or run over something, somewhere along the lines. Good luck trying to get somewhere with it anyway. |

Small consolation but it show's you had a solid wing there instead of a rotten one like so many these days. I hope it is all settled to your satisfaction, I would imagine a new wing will be the order of the day as you do not want a load of filler in such an obvious moisture/ rust trap. |

Thanks for the replies. I will do what I can but I fear that without solid evidence (they denied having CCTV for example) I may be on a hiding to nothing ![]() I think the fact that this car is really straight and tidy makes this all the more annoying. It's not like I could've done much to prevent this and it makes me angry and frustrated. I need a punchbag ![]() |

similar thing happened to me about 15 years ago with the drivers rear sill on a rover 416 at kwik-fit, they couldn't have been nicer, admitted liability and their insurance paid for a new sill and repaint and a courtesy car |

Shocking stuff, I'm not looking forward to trusting my Fuchs with tyre fitters and I think I'll be taking the wheels off and taking them in the other car for extra precaution after reading this. Good luck with getting it sorted, god knows why they let the apprentice loose on a Porsche. |

clumsy oafs! looks like the jack did it,in fact it may have fallen off the jack when the metal started bending! dont suppose you paid by Barclaycard or similar did you? if so youll have some insurance through them although it sounds as though Black Circles may help you as its in their interest to monitor the people who fit their tyres.Inform Trading Standards anyway, you might as well give them as much bad publicity as you can.name and shame as they say.hope it works out ok for you! ![]() |
