I fancied a bit of a project, so I bought a 944 Cabby which needs a bit of TLC. The back window has gone opaque accross the top (so rear visibility is like looking through a letter box) and has a crack down one side, so will need replacing. I found Porscheshop do just the rear section of the roof (the top is fine, so no need to replace), see the link and scroll about 3/4 down:

Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of getting a new roof - where to buy one and where to get it fitted before I take the plunge :thumbright:

I had the trimmer who did all the work on the green 911 that Chris Harris had built replace mine on my 911 Speedster. He is based near Coventry but does work for Tuthills(who built Chris's car) so Banbury should not be a problem. He sourced the new sceen and removed stitched in and replaced hood for me. PM me if you want his details

A guy on PCGB just got quoted £400+VAT by Larry Piper in Sparkford (home of Haynes) for the rear, but was advised it wouldn't match the other part (something I'd imagine to be true) and is going for a complete hood at £670+VAT. Larry comes highly recommended though not from my personal experience.

My cab had a new hood before I bought it from a place in Derby and it was still pretty much spot on when I sold it and it was 2 1/2 years old or thereabouts.
