Hi guys, in new to this forum but have used it many times over the past 12-18 months getting this 944 back on the road! I don't think mine is one for the purists, but hopefully the hard work this car took to save it from the scrap heap will win them over! Thoughts and comments welcomed guys!

Like that a lot, agree not one for the purists but very cool none the less. Have you done anything to the engine? Will |

Thanks for the compliments, yes not one for the purists is it, but I must say I have huge respect for original cars, saw a mk1 golf gti the other day that was like it had rolled out of the factory yesterday, amazing! I'll take some proper pics soon. It's mine and a friend's we both wanted a car to restore/tinker with and didn't really have the funds/time to warrant one each ...so we decided to get one between us... everything is now half price! haha! Basically when we bought it, it was a bit of a wreck off eBay. Pretty straight panels etc. zero accident damage, very few dents and minimal rust, but bad paint, poor interior and sold as non-runner as had intermittent running issues. But got it for good money - especially as it came with the Cup 1 wheels (bit battered and silver at the time but genuine). So far we have done the following: Fixed engine running issue (nothing major, leads, plugs and distributor) MOT'd (Mainly brakes, bit of welding, bulbs, wipers, tyres, the normal.) New gearbox (sourced and fitted in an emergency 2 days before we drove it to LeMans!!!! Looong nights!) Removed the and filled the side strips, same with rear bumper strip (makes it a lot cleaner looking IMO) Removed and filled wingmirrors and replaced with DTM style ones New windscreen and surrounds fitted Fitted sideskirts Vinyl wrapped the whole exterior (long job!), including removing all bumpers etc. so done quite nicely. Reconditioned some awful paint damaged boxster seats (see image) with tan leather kit off eBay. Fitted coilovers on the front (mk1 Golf) Recon'd the wheels (in Porsche racing orange) Re-indexed rear end (one notch on outer spline so dropped about 2" and meant no need for complex re-indexing!) Removed rear seats and installed a good sound system ....instead of space for the wags. Fitted new suede steering wheel and boss Fitted new drivers side window motor The best bit... ALL IN, we've spent just over £2000 (£1000 each) including the car and the sound system, a lot of eBay bargains and elbow grease! Pretty happy with it, want to get to some meets etc. now to see what everyone else thinks and get some more inspiration off other 924/944 owners. Love trying something new and trying to fix parts rather than just buy new.

Cool, like the wrap. Needs some acoustic carpet over the speaker housings not sure about those seats though, they look like a couple of extras from Towie ! Whereabouts are you located ? |

Ha... there's a filter on the images, the seats aren't (quite) as bad as they look. More natural looking in person. Yeah the whole rear is now covered in acoustic carpet so all hidden, just no pics yet, if the rain holds off I'll try and get some this weekend. Located in Warwick, when is the next meet on, need to sign up to TIPEC. |

PS: The seats came in at £140 all in, for what are now two 'ok' looking boxster seats - so I can't complain too much about the shade of colour the kit made them. |

Awesome looking 944. Love the wrap, the wheels, the interior..... Bit old for big ICE installs, but great for making the local KFC windows shake lol Whats happening in the engine bay ? |

Cheers for the compliments. Yeah, ditto on the ICE - but the stuff was on gumtree for pittance so why not! Not a lot in the engine dept, standard 2.5 8v, it's sounding pretty tappety but revs and pulls really well! We made a decision a while back that it was never going to be a quick car so focus on the visuals and have it as more show than go - again, not really playing in to the purists hands but when my daily driver is a damn site quicker speed wasn't my draw to the project. |

Nice job on the wrap and well done for keeping another car alive too many people buy these as projects then sell them on a year later as an unstarted project. |
