Post subject:  Electric wires to screenwash jets?

This evening, comparing my 944 and 924, I noticed that the 944 has electrical wires running into the screenwash jets in the bonnet. What are these for?

Just possibly answered my own question. I assume they are heated to stop the screenwash freezing. However, this seems rather pointless as
1) Screenwash if strong enough, has a lower freezing temperature than water.
2) If the weather is that cold that the heated jets are required to unfreeze the screenwash, it will just freeze again on the screen surely?

the nozzles are heated to prevent water from outside freezing on the jets preventing screenwashers working

I assume the heater elements only operate when the rear window / wing mirror heater switch is on?

cant remember, but I guess you can wire them to suit your requirements, if you have an issue with the fluid freezing in the pipes to the nozzles you used to be able to buy some tape things which you could wind them with , which were elements to prevent this, if for example you got caught out with the weather and it was much colder than expected and you had too lean a winter screenwash solution.
I remember my Saabs having these as standard, cos its cold where they come from :)
