I've finally finished re-stitching my original Porsche steering wheel and treating the leather.  Once my fingers have recovered  I'm looking to replace the Momo on the car. While I'm changing the wheel I was thinking of replacing all the lightbulbs for the dashboard as several are not working. Anybody got any advice or experience for an early dash 944  Any ideas for buying all the bulbs before I start the work Cheers |

If your going to the trouble you can get coloured LEDs on ebay. Look pretty good! Should be much easier then the oval dash. Haynes manuel covers your car. |

Ive done this myself recently. Getting the dials out can be a bit awkward. You need to dissasebmle the indicators etc to give clearence on the bottom of the dials. Once thats all out of the way take the screws out from around the inside of the dials and then you can pull the dials out part of the way. You then need to reach round the back of the dials to disconnect the speedo cable, if the gap is too small you can feed some more of the speedo cable through from the engine bay I think. This should give you enough room to get it undone. Then the bulbs are easily accesible. |

Thanks for the help. Hopefully sorted a workshop to work in at weekends over the winter Start with the dsah and swap to LED lights. Then clean the underside of the car and see if there are any other parts I can sort with my pavement mechanic skills

What colour LED's are you going to go for? I was going to do it but couldnt make up my mind lol. |
