Hi again,,, Yesterday local Indie called to confirm that calipers need an overhaul and are suffering from plate lift... I did a bit of research overnight and found a link from a PH member.. http://www.jackals-forge.com/lotus/968c ... telift.htm In the link he makes reference to these guys... http://www.mylocalservices.co.uk/Cheshi ... otive.html I called them up today and they advised that OPC's in the area use them for caliper overhauls. Seems like a decent chap and keen to take the work on. He quoted me £120 per caliper including paint but excluding pistons (if needed). Does anyone have any experience with these guys good or bad? Thanks, |

A little update. After much calling around and research, I went with addictive motorsport (previously Porsche caliper) 1 week turnaround, and have to say what a great service. Just need to fit along with new front M030 discs and will report on performance, but i'm expecting a night & day difference since my calipers were pretty knackered and all were suffering from plate lift... I had full refurb and powdercoat. One of the calipers needed a new piston. Apparently the previous owner had refurbed to a high standard just before I bought the car. My Arse!! Hoping car will be ready in next 2 weeks for pick-up and I can drive her this summer...

That looks lovely Phil! Don't you love it when previous garages do not do the work they claimed to have done? It is a bit too common for my liking if I am honest. It should stop quite well with this new setup. Were you going with the PF pads or are you going with stock items? I ask as I am debating between the Pagids and Textars for the front of my car ![]() |

The business owners may be enthusiastic & passionate, and give an amazing customer service, but like everything its the staff that make the difference. Seems our nation breeds too many lazy workers that like to cut corners... Hopefully - Addictive (the guys that refurbed the calipers) said considerign the condition of the brakes I will have a very different driving experience! The pads that were stuck in the calipers were pretty much a wedge shape and no doubt would of been dragging as the axles tried to spin. I'm expecting the car to feel a bit pokier, and stop on a sixpence lol.. Pads wise I have gone PF (10 compound I think) for the front, and in my oppinion the rears do not get worked nowhere near as hard as the front, so gone with OE pads. I really wanted Ferodo DS2500's or 3000's for the front, but the PF pads were well priced.. Ps. I'm still searching for a wortec system... ![]() |
