Found this statement from a guy who had swapped the DME and AFM.
"Adding the new brain made a very noticeable difference in terms of driveablilty, idle and mid-range punch. Easily, the best mod I have made to the car. Not to mention the elimination of "the early studder" as some call itIn some people's mind, the early computer is not up to the task. It must be accompanied by a 85.5 - 88 AFM to work appropriately. It is direct plug n' play. Also, it gives you many more re-chip options (direct swap instead of soldering). As far as the chip goes, I got a noticeable increase in RPM. Without dyno(ing), the rest is really to hard to tell by feel. "
