Post subject: | VERY low mileage 924S: Value? |
Hi Everyone, I have a 1988 924S with a genuine 8k miles on the clock (Yes, I honestly mean EIGHT THOUSAND miles). I have owned her for 10 years and have done about three thousand miles in that time. She is "Champagne" (silver) with beige pinstripe seating and a black dashboard / steeringwheel /centre console and is in immaculate condition. I'm trying to decide whether to make her my daily driver or whether to sell her to an appreciative new home - perhaps to somebody who has the time to show her at concours. Sadly, my new house does not have sufficient garage space for a "show" car as well as our regular transport. Can anyone on the Forum give me any ideas as to the probable value of this car? |

The best 924S are fetching around 3500-4000 but to be honest valuing something like this is almost impossible. One of the specialist dealers would probably punt it at around 9,995 ![]() |

its a pretty unique car with that mileage and only worth what someone will pay in these days of doom and gloom, maybe worth putting in the hands of a specialist broker who will charge commision on the sale, a low mileage 924 carrera GT is on at £18k at the moment and has been for a while, so good luck |

Many thanks Jim and Lindsay for your very helpful responses. I hadn't thought about selling the car through a broker - but given her special condition and mileage it could be a good way forward. Do you (or any other forum members) have recommendations for a broker in the South of England? |

i think most indie porsche dealers will help you sell on an commission basis, don't know where you are but the likes of eporsh in chertsey offer this service and they regularily advertise in the porsche mags |

I would use the car as a daily driver. My 924S is far the best little car I have owned. Its economical, easy to service yourself and fun to drive. I used to have a Honda Type R and lots of fast Hondas before and sold it as I was running out of space. You wont regret it. These cars get better the more you use them. When it comes to value we have our own ideas, but in todays current economic climate nothing will sell for what you want. If I was you, sell your modern car and use the 924S, they wont go down in value anymore and as long as you keep looking after it the values of these little underated cars can only go up. Look at the early 911S a few years ago, they were going for a song, now look at the values. It will be the same for the 924S. Look in last months Pratical Classics magazine at what they say in the 1st couple pages of the mag. Good Luck ![]() |
