Hi all,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. This month I was planning to purchase some GAZ gold coilovers for my '86 Lux.

On my previous car I had GAZ GHA's which I found to be fantastic for my use (mainly weekend fun and occasional track) - They were a pretty good all rounder.

I contacted a guy I know who can get GAZ stuff at a decent price to see if he could get me another set of GHA's for the 944. He said at the time (sept last year) that the only model available for my '86 car was the Golds.

I've recently been searching the web to compare prices etc and have come across these:
http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/prod ... ber=133180

I've not yet contacted to see if these are available for my specific car but was wondering if anyone has had a set?

I've noticed that the rear is only a shock but it has the coilover strut up front. My main issue is will the rear shock be massively effective without changing torsion bars/adding coilovers?

I was fully intending to get some Golds so that the car was adjustable all round but after seeing these available I'm in two minds whether the golds are just a bit too over the top for what I need?

My biggest issue at the moment is the tired suspension leaning over any time it see's a mild corner.

I want to keep the front the same height as it is currently (-30mm spax springs) but want it a bit stiffer and basically keep the back where it is just a bit stiffer as well.

Do any of you have any thoughts on what is the best way to go about this?

The car will be used on track more this year but is mainly just a car to have a bit of a blast in on the weekends.

(I know KW have a very good reputation I just like the GAZ's from previous experience and am able to get them through a person I know)

There's a set on pcgb if your quick £ 400

Iv had them in the past gold, thought they where to heavy sprung that the dampening couldn't be adjuseted, much happy with my 120k worn in koni

That could mean the GHA's might be the better option if that's the case with the rears Terry.

Could be, could off just been to high sprung. I never did find out what the rates where.

Cool overs on the rear help to lower the car passed what the torsion bar can do.
