well got the brakes up to scratch coming together bit by bit
when i took the back discs off to check why the offside hand-brake was not holding i found that there was only one spring holding the shoes on :?
seems who ever had played with the brakes last time had dropped the other between the shoes and back-plate, so he left it there :x
if people dont know what they are doing then dont do it :x :x :x
rant over.

Glad its OK, the springs break if reused so that's why it's floating inside, did you replace them all?

yep new bits again thats why its still not up and running yet, you find a little thing like the one spring missing then you order it and jobs stopped for another day till it comes.

Thats the main problem with a classic. It's not till you get it in bits that you know what you need. Then your waiting for the postman. Been waiting a couple of weeks for my sunroof cable. Where is it?
