Stuart , the last car show I went to several people had mirrors on the ground beneath the engine so people could admire how wonderful their engines were , I thought " what a k**b " , but now I am thinking maybe not such a daft idea . Of course I will have to add a roof rack for the 6ft mirror on so I can whip it underneath in Tesco car park .

The last fella I spoke to with one of those cars with mirrors on the floor, told me was selling it, as he never drove it, went everywhere on a trailer and spent 20 hours a well cleaning it

That’s not what owning a classic is about, is it?
Nope I keep mine dirty and used thanks

Agreed Martin , my car does not stand up well to close examination , but my intention is to use it .
Of course you can go the other way as with the motorbike in the photo . It was a static display in a french restaurant for 20 years and the patina has been applied . This is all very well till you spill petrol on it and it washes of .

Remind me Simon, are you still running VEMS and if so has it been mapped on a rolling road?

Hi Paul , vems on one and augment on the other .
Tom put the augment one on his rolling road before he could measure hp but is well set up and tuned and cant fault driveability . It makes a difference they are based here in the uk if you experience problems.
The vems car has been on the rolling road for a few hours when doing the initial fuelling and needs to go back for some power runs now its set up . Runs really well , like a factory car even if its a 3.3 with a lorry turbo on it , just cold starting have to keep your foot on throttle for 30 seconds which we are working on .
I personally prefer the vems now we know are way around it but we have spent more time on that car . Had problems initially but Peep helped in his own time although I have heard its harder to get hold of him . I have not found anyone in the uk who is an expert in the vems so you have to get involved yourself.
Both are these are on 16v but using turbo bellhousing and speed/ref sensors as there is more choice on clutch type and didn't want to mess around crank position sensor and wheel .

Thanks Simon. I wonder why Peep didn't just write a setup guide, he must have got the same questions over and over. It seems the cold idle has cropped up a few times on Rennlist. I may be wrong, but I think some sorted that out by adding more fuel for the cold starts.

Need to create some space in garage so going offer an engine for sale if anyone interested. Choice of a built 3l turbo with 16v head , steel liners and arias pistons with balance shaft delete or a 2.7l engine with steel liners , 16v head and je pistons with balance shafts . The 2.7 can be made into a 3.2 by swapping out crank for a 3l one and using standard height rods . £3500 for either . Pm me .
Both have new gaskets (cometic) , seals , strengthened oil pick up .
They have been sat on an engine stand for to long and should be used .

Should mention they are both new and unrun . Does not include turbo or mount but will throw in a crossover pipe and an s2 inlet manifold to make your own intake.

Yes , thanks Paul . You don't need much boost with the amount of air the 16v flows to get 400bhp.

While I am clearing out garage , I have decided to sell one of my cars as its not had much use and seems a waste .
Its a 944 S2 H reg with a 16v turbo engine . Built for use on track or as a fast road car if you put an mot on it . Most of the details are in this thread . Non sunroof skin conversion , saftey devices cage , recaro pole position seats , turbo gearbox with oil cooler and lsd but with s2 cw/p , Gaz coilovers , polybushed all round , torque tube rebuilt , polycarbonate hatch, fiberglass wings and bonnet , 16v turbo engine with K27/8 using Augment automotive ecu , manual stearing rack , brake bias valve , vems round gauge and lots I have forgotten . Belts and rollers done last week . No mot .
£12000 for car or £15000 for car and brand new 2.7 steel sleeved engine, forged rods, which can be made into 3.2l by swapping crank and rods .
Here's a couple of pics . Pm me
