I was looking for a new exhaust for my 16v S install and came across a listing on eBay for 944 exhausts from ECP/carparts4less for £148 item number : 331057506545 - which was super cheap & wallet friendly.

Interestingly it's listed as a Klarius but mine is most definitely stamped DANSK in all it's polished glory. Score!

If you buy a second item you get an additional 15% off - so I added a rubber bung...and then only paid £129.

Grab one while you can.

One thing to remember however is that Dansk build quality seems to be a lottery. Some last well over a decade, others sound like the latest rattly heap of crap within months (as I believe RS2000CUSTOM and others have said). Maybe someone sold 'factory seconds' out on the market, who knows?

If it turns out these are the better built versions, then I guess you cannot go wrong .

Yeah I had 3 over a 9 month period all of them cracked and not in the same place, the welding was shite and overall shape was piss poor and looked daft as the tail pipe no matter how much you tried would not fit straight

In the end I bought a stock exhaust system that fit perfectly and sounded no different to the dansk and feels no different power wise

Well I certainly hope my experience is different of course - looks pretty well made and for the price I couldn't have asked for more. All offered up now.




Now to address the slightly rough idle...I need to drive this darn car but at least it's back on the garage floor after a year on stands!

Round tip is new thought they where oval? Seems like it's one pipe rather then a tip

The tailpipe is oval. The perspective of how the show was taken however makes it appear otherwise. It is funny how from the angle it is take the tailpipe appears to be perfectly round when others round tailpipes would be oval in the same shot .

I have also had a poor experience with a Dansk. I will never use them again.

If you search the Porsche forums, they are littered with stories of this dichotomy of quality. Some swear by them, others like me have has one or more Dansk product crumble to pieces in very short order. The split seems to be pretty even too.

Toss your coin, pay your money and take your choice. I will never take the risk.
