Recomendations for coolant additive please (Anti Freeze) due to flush my car out and replace when the new belts project is underway ? |

Only use the pink if you absolutely, positively have got all the old blue out.. Even the heater matrix.. If not, the combination of pink and blue makes a horrid glutinous gel, normally in the worst possible locations, like the entrances to the radiator tubes between end tanks. If we build a new engine and take the time to flush out the rad and matrix, then we use the long life pink stuff and still recommend 2 yearly changes, it is just a little better at heat transfer and corrosion resistance than the old blue stuff. But having said that, the blue stuff is perfectly adequate, but one day you will struggle to get hold of it anymore. |

comma have a product selector on their website, comma xstream g48 is recommended, meets Porsche specs and is blue I used it in my turbo happily, I had big probs using a vw spec purple in my 86 na that a specialist recommended. |

OT slightly. Any factual feedback on Evans waterless good or bad?? With a fresh engine (chemically stripped during rebuild), new ally radiator + hoses and no heater matrix to worry about, I scratched my head on what to use. Searched forums for advice. But alas opted for the old skool blue! Now with 9 months use and lots of fluid top ups during the cooling issues I had during the Summer but now rectified, it wouldn't be a huge issue to flush and fill with the best option this Spring. Any suggestions? |

Have you tried green? I have only ever used Comma XStream G48 mixed 50/50 with deionized water. It's a reasonable price, and is phosphate free which I understand is necessary to be kind to the aluminium. |
