Could you guys offer me some advice on a good trolley jack for my 944.

I was looking at this one and this one, Clarke CTJ1500QULP Ultra Low Profile 1.5T Quick Lift Trolley Jack

but not progressed any further

I bought this, and for the life of my cant work out why its so cheap. Had it a year now Build quality is good, no free play ect ect. All thing you have to do it top up the oil and bleed it before you use it. But if you prepared to spend 5 minutes fiddling you can save about £100

Got the same as Kongsodoken but I think it was around £90
In a differnt label.

But still I find my self driving up on to wood or bricks to get in 2 wishbones.

That one doesnt have a huge lift but will be fine for most stuff.

171134743463 eBay item number mine was all silver. However may it was more then £80 seem to be about £130 but it does just fit its then length not hight that you need.

1 sheet off 22mm ply wood 2.4 x 1.2 cut in to 300mm strips x 1200mm = 8 length off 1.2

Then cut this lengths to 1 in half = 600 and 600 1 in 900 300 stick this together with glue and screws to make steps
1200 base then 900 then 600 then 300 will give you a smooth ramp off 100mm high. Make 2 off these
Your still have 3 1200 strips left which you could almost make another or thicken up the the 1st 2 ramps.

By another 50mm 1200 x 2 on base and 600 x 2

You can then get any jack under

You can build taller longer even could build a front and back ramp as one with anoth room to get in between. could even cut keys jigsaw like part that clip together and all for £30

I bought one like the all silver one from Costco about four years ago still working perfect after all this time, The only issue I had was the socket head bolts had a tendency to work loose over a period of time ( I think due to vibration when in the service barge )but applying a spot of locktite to the bolts cured the problem .

If they still do them the Arcan costco 3 ton low entry jack. Its as heavy as hell but very low and lifts anything. Less than £100 when I bought mine.

I have one of those too, excellent. Reassuringly heavy.

I have one - brilliant jack, but stays in the garage.

I have had a couple of machine mart jacks - cheap rubbish IMO. I need to get round to fixing my ally machine mart jack - have a seal kit for it .

Do you have to be a member to buy from them though?

My main jack is a Sealey 2.25tonne Yankee. That is over twenty years old and solid(and heavy) as a rock.

But its always useful to have a spare.

Either way with my 951 it is about the only jack (bar the stock item) which will go underneath the sills bar the factory item (even with the factory jack I will struggle to get it underneath the car).

It lifts the car with ease, very swiftly (quicker dare I say than my trusty Clarke 3 Tonne jack of a similar design (it is a steel Jack and weighs considerably more).
