Evening all I'm just about to finally get my 944 back from the painters so I can start to to put it back together. I'm having the 15" wheels refurbed, does anyone know if it will affect the handling if I put 7mil spacers on the rears to make the wheels fill out the arches a bit? |

Shouldn't do, should improve it, as it widens the track, but it may make it tramline more. Personally I would do it. But I would put 7mm on front as well Wider offset wheel is better 7mm is the max limit for stock size studs |

Okeydoke, I guess if I do I'll have to get it re-set up though? |

What do you mean by reset up? Tracking? There spacers I would just stick them on go for a drive see how u feel, remove go for a drive and compere. 944 looks so much better with the arch filled which is why I like running 18" Wheels. Tried 16" with studs and spacers wasn't overly content. Wider you make the track the more load it can place on bearing and that, but nothing should break next week just cause u got spacers on. One good thing about a wider track is missing them stupid square speed bumps. Only problem is the tall ones be come sump and pumpsteering pump smashers. So it they look to tall I tend to go over it on the driver side slightly |

Theyre far, for more sensitive to front offset than rear. I wouldn't worry too much. I wouldn't ever space the front wheels for appearance though. |

Thanks Lads I think I'll just do the rears (at first anway) as it the rear wheels that look a bit lost -the front not so much, I don't want to change the appearance too much as I've spent so much returning her to glory - merely tweak it a tad. Steve |
