Just noticed the heater blower fan is not running on speed position 1, works fine for speed 2-4.

Before start taking things apart, anyone suggest what is most likely culprit to look at first?

Have disconnected/reconnected the electrical terminal connector on top of the heater unit to the loom, terminals were clean and clear of oxidation so not likely that.

Suggestions please.

Cheers

Hi David,

Here is a link to a procedure for servicing the resistor pack in the heater. It may be useful?....Otherwise, you might just need to take it out and give it a visual and electrical check.

Many people have suggested that the pack is left in vinegar overnight to clean the various contacts, etc. However..I have never tried that. Of course the problem you are having may be the actual switch in the heater unit itself.

If I think of anything else I will post it up. :D

I can confirm that soaking the resistor pack in vinegar does work... Try it!

Thanks for the suggestions and the excellent link, will start with the resistor pack which was wondering might be suspect and move onto the control knob if the vinegar treatment doesn't do the trick.

Will give it a try this weekend.

Cheers

Thanks for the confirmation - I had heard it might. Sounds like the kind of thing Aggie and Kim would suggest in that pinnacle of CH4's programming - 'How clean is your house?' - as everything they did seemed to involve vinegar!
