My front shocks have wear which we found during its initial inspection at my mates garage.

I'm looking at replacing and may do all four shocks so it 'feels' the same all round.

Has anyone used Bilstein B6 shocks?

£500 for a set - half reasonable.

If it wasn't torsion bar at the back I'd go for coilovers but to be honest the ride height is fine and firmness is okay so shocks alone will be fine.

On my 944, no, but they are on my 205 and from others cars I have been in with them on they have impressed me. Slightly on the firm side yet still making things more comfortable (but then again that is R&D for you ;). They sharpened up the 205 chassis no end over the stock dampers (which were replaced at some point prior to my ownership (Rears were Boge dampers, not the stock Peugeot Sport items, and were the front which were originally made by Bilstein allegedly).

In your shoes I would consider going for them, at that price anyway :).

I think I'll be upgrading my Turbo to b6's in the coming months, as similarly to AlpineTurbo I have billies on my 106 Rallye (albeit b4's) and they're a quality damper. The car is very composed through the corners yet compliant on rough B roads.

Like yourself I'm not too fussed with coilies on the 944 as a road car...

Larkspeed seem to be about the cheapest for a full set!

I have b6's on my turbo. Find them to be a great balance between body control and compliance for the road. Am doing a track day next weekend to judge them in that environment.

What trackday are you doing?

I've now paid for Rocky, but was considering squeezing another in beforehand to try it out with the old suspension so I can compare properly after changing it.

I use B6 Bilsteins on my S2 with modified housings - as said above, great compromise shock with good comfort and performance
