Was just filling up at Shell there, always use v power and usually buy 2 bottles of lucozade which are usually 2 for £2, have been for donkeys. Anyway noticed 2 for £2 deal was off and been replaced with buy 2 bottles at full price (£1.79) and get 5p a litre off petrol. So I am at this point £1.60 out of pocket on my usual lucozade deal. However once I passed 32 litres of fuel I was break even and given I stuck in 36 litres I was 20p up! Also had a £10 Shell voucher through my points so ended up paying £1.11 per litre! Happy days. :D

Worth doing if you are necking your tank though as 80 litres fuel would be £4 cheaper gaining you 40p and 2 free bottles of lucozade!

Hope this helps, made me happy!

Cheers

Stuart

I too looked at this, and unless I understand it incorrectly have always worked out that 80 litres at £0.05 / litre is a £4 saving. But 2 bottles costs you £3.58 at full price meaning you only save £0.42 for the fill. thus I never saw the value of the deal and rarely have use for two bottles of lucozade either!! I guess it works of you as you buy the drinks anyway, but for the rest of us maybe not the 'deal' it initially appears.

Shell deals are always a waste of time in my experience - Do the maths on the Drivers Card and it's also a waste of time for the savings!

It's a shame because I quite like Shell as a brand :)

I have up buying at shell as the reward points are so low value as to be pointless. I fill up at BP now and get the nectar points.

Which are equally worthless. Gave that up a few years ago after a £5k annual fuel spend plus weekly Sainsbury shopping didn't give us enough points to pay for the Christmas trolley in said supermarket.

I agree they are all rubbish! However as I always buy v power and lucozade in tandem this deal works for me!

It might not pay for it all but every year it contributes £60 towards it for us. Better than a lego car or an imitation cut glass tumbler!

They are my thoughts, my mileage has plummeted (around 12K) but still managed £75 towards Crimbo this year. That includes using Nectar search bar & E Bay & some other sources of Nectar points.

I saved more than £75 per annum using Tesco fuel rather than BP :D

Nothing in life is 'free'!

As for the Shell Lego model. I think it worked out circa £5 more to fill up with my local Shell V Power than Tesco M99. I'll pass on that 'freebie'

I use Tesco Momentum and my sainsbury shop last year gave me £70 towards the xmas shop this year.

You have to make use of the bonus points!!

To be honest, i would ever fall of any of that shite. The reason they offer something is to make you go back.

The clever thing to do it have the points cards and collect them when you are there. But never to specificity say I will buy some shell fuel because I have a shell card.

I have a lot of loyalty cards and it makes me a lot of money. I have never bought a single thing because I have a card for that particular place.

Collect point on things you were going to buy anyway otherwise it means they are winning. Ive worked that way for many years and I end up with a couple of free tanks a year purely as a biproduct of carrying a piece of plastic with me.

I'm a mild Ebay user, i linked a nectar card to it, I now get a small reward when making puraches I would have made anyway and have round a tenner in 3 months

Just dont be suckered into following a brand purely to collect points and you will benefit from it.
