Uk 944Ss are all Lux models. Lux was a trim spec as opposed to a model identifier (in the same way that ventiler means valve in German and isnt a model name for the S, it was an outrageously expensive option to have '16 Ventiler' script rubbing strips).

I will tell you whats the same and think about the differences over breakfast as there are many although they arent obvious. Same as a 1987 model year 8v N/A 944: wheels and tyres; brake calipers ('brakes are different though as Ss have a proportioning valve); body and interior trim.

Differences. Engine (cylinder head; cam drive belt; sump); exhaust (completely and similar to S2 & 2.7l), DME which is more advanced than that found on 8v cars and uses different sensors; transaxle which is a Turbo part but without the lower final drive, brake system includes a proportioning valve; last model year cars have a Turbo under-body rear spoiler & struts and dampers are from the Turbo (i believe).
