Tax and MOT out in Nov - Sorned and covered for winter having enjoyed a great 2013 season in D944 Renewed insurance this January - only to find that agreed value only honoured if valid MoT in place. So uncovered, 30 minute warmed up, and round to local garage for MoT super quick. Running very lumpy - like a missing cylinder on tick over- ok between 2 and 3 thousand revs. and power there, Then really lumpy again above 4Th. So I would like the benefit of all you Porsche experts - is this just a reaction to all the highly damp weather and it’ll go away in the spring? Or is this significant indication of something major???? Thanks again for reading and Happy New Year —— |

My 944 T was a bit lumpy when I turned it over between Christmas and New Year. It had been sat for about 2 months beforehand. I traced it to a bit of damp in the dissy cap. Hope yours is as easy to solve. |

I was going to say the dissy cap and or the plugs sometimes oil up a tad. I have a Quantum 2+2 RSturbo and that is very sensitive to being left for the winter and takes a few miles to clear in the spring. Iridium plugs can help a great deal especially with turbo's. |

imo from previous research, iridium plugs are not good for older turbo cars due to potential failure and resulting damage. lot of info on the american forums to suggestion standard issue beru or better the ngk option is the best route to go! the 4 point bosch or platinum also has info to suggest best avoided viewtopic.php?f=25&t=16581 |

ps i would say either as above damp or contaminated or damaged leads, dizzy or rotor. The garage redid my dizzy and rotor as they said it was arcing, apparently another car uses the same dizzy (maybe volvo!!) and its a lot cheaper, beru I think, if you end up redoing it. I would take it a nice long drive first! |

Volvo is 16v, 8v are differnt. Guess cheaper dissy makes up for the pricey ht leads |
