Post subject:  disc pads

got some pads from p/s and went to fit them :shock: way to thick there aint room in calipers for pads and disc is there two sorts? dont wanna use new discs with the old pads.

Sorry don't know enough to help but it may help if you give a bit more information about what car you have.

I'm assuming 944? I believe there are a fair few different brakes used on the different models/years of 944 too.

If this early 944 with single pot callipers then the piton isn't retracted enough & is possibly partially seized. You may need to remove the calliper to get the piston right back & the slide retracted as well.

yep its an 82 944 pistons fully back and new seals fitted still pads to thick to fit by about 3mm each all part numbers match up.

I've shaved them off in the past, either rubbing on coarse sand paper or on the grinder, be careful the latter can be B dangerous :roll:
