Hi All,

Has anybody had experience of removing a bonnet?
I note the main hinges need to be undone etc,it's just the electrics/water pipe removal/refit that concerns me.

Thanks in advance

Adrian.

Hi, The water pipes pop off with a fair tug. The electrics though don't have a plug, so you'll have to cut them. I put connectors on them just in case I have to ever remove it again.

My '86 had a plug on the electrics so you may be lucky. Mark the hinges on the underside of the bonnet with ink pen - makes it easier to realign. Get someone to help - takes a couple minutes. Easy.

Use two people to lift the bonnet off and on. its is easy to jab the screen with the pointy top corner of the bonnet, cracking the screen.
if you are careful its an easy job tho!

yeah as above its much heavier than it looks def a 2 man job!

also sounds obvious but dont undo the bolts till everything else is disconnected.

it naturally slides to the window so i always jam some blocks of foam inbetween.
