I had this problem and I bought VW bulbs which dont fit correctly however by sliding a piece of plastic tube (stripped from electric cable) I repaired both my fobs.
Battery and bulbs Ebay.

Hi, thanks for the info, do you happen to know where on ebay you got them from, or if not the battery spec as mine has no reference on it. Also if you could remember which vw fob the bulb was for that would be great. Thanks.

Computer problems sorted

Here is the info you need, I should say that the bulb needs the black spacer that you see to make it fit. I am an engineer so I used nylon and turned it on a lathe however the plastic shroud of electric cable can be used or I thought an angling shop will have plastic ledger stops or float rings.
Problem solving is half the fun of older cars :lol:
