Doesn't one else get annoyed with the position of the steering I column on the 924/944
If it could just move out and angle up a bit it would be so. Uh nicer to drive...
Anyone ever fitted a different adjustable steering column,or have any ideas...

Are you quite tall and looking for a little more knee room?

If so, have you checked there are no seat raising blocks under the seat runners?

Agree Jon, my thoughts exactly check if any lifting blocks are under the seat runners I am 6'2" and had no issue with the wheel position on my 924S but had to fit some blocks for my MIL when she used it for a year, you could also try fitting a smaller steering wheel or a flat bottomed one to give you more knee room. I know the later cars have a more raised steering column but I do not think you can easily alter the position of an earlier car without significant mods.

I have a nice flat bottom Momo with boss going if anyone wants it, bought it in a couple of years ago for a customer and they proceeded to right the car off before it was fitted.

I have a flat bottomed Momo and boss on my S2 although when I bought it I didn't know it was flat but it has increased my leg room even though it was not an issue before so a good idea if leg room is a problem just need to check the boss for fit to early or later cars.

Flat bottomed and off centred wheels dont really help, unless you only go straight ahead.

Better to get a Momo or OMP extension or two to bring the wheel nearer. You get to extend your legs properly moving them out of the way, get more headroom and it lifts the steering wheel too.

I have a momo wheel with boss extension as I drive in a quite reclined position (due to a spinal injury, not in a misguided attempt to look cool). Works well.

I fitted a Momo Prototipo to my early 944 and it was exactly the same diameter as the original wheel. The biggest difference was that the original wheel is slightly offset so it sits higher than the Momo wheel which obscures the temp and tacho slightly.

I'm 6'2" and couldn't fit in my car when I got it, my legs were tight up against the wheel but as mentioned earlier I Found aluminium blocks raising the seat, once I pulled them out I found that I could fit in it fine. I Don't have any issues with the angle of the steering wheel and find it quite a nice place to be with comfortable driving position.

We're all different though.

The original 924/944 series one driving position is better, if you can get it all to fit. For tall people this can usually be accomplished by using long steering spacers (and a Momo offset adapter too, as OEM wheels are offset).

Well - I did some subtle butchery on my original wheel and it works great for me! I have a clear view over the dash! Inverted, with even the "Porsche" logo stamp the right way up! Strange but true!Image

Theyre off-centre, so that now has less clearance.
