Post subject:  S2 will not start after accident

I am breaking a 944 s2 which has had damage to the from passenger side and am unable to get the engine running.

The engine turns over but there appears to be no spark, there is power going to the coil and the coil has been tested.

Is there some sort of accident cut off switch or what is causing the problem?

The S2 has an ignition module on the passenger side inner wing, just in front of, and under the rad header tank. If the front is severely damaged this can get trashed :( .

Have a check and see if it is all OK, also check all the wiring - as the drive to the coil from this module might have been cut in the accident. If you can post a photo of this area that might help. There are no accident cut-offs...

Have added a picture below. The ignition module is damaged but I have fitted a replacement module. Sounds like I will need to trace and possibly repair the loom.

Thanks

Got the car running now, the wire pins had got pulled away from the plug for the ignition module. Wires pushed in and all good.

Good to hear it is running now :) ..its not the cabriolet that is pictured in your forum avatar is it? Or is this one you have bought in to break?

No it isn't the cabby. I went to view this car to get some parts and decided to take it whole, use/keep the bits I want and then off with the rest.
