So I was going to spend a fair chunk of money with DV on an interior...
It was £528, for the interior, plus I wanted a bonnet, They told me that a bonnet was £75, but the postage was high, so I said I'd collect it, and the interior as well, to save postage etc.
I asked them if they'd do the lot for £550, as they didn't have to post, in return they replied stating that the total cost was £603.10, they'd let me have it all for £600! Plus, if I wasn't happy with the bonnet they'd selected, and I wanted to look at others, the price would go up, for tying them up!
Now that's what I call customer service.
I've found a bonnet elsewhere for £30, and the brilliant guy who is repairing my dad's interior is going to repair my seats with material from 924werk instead.
So Douglas Valley have lost out.
Just thought I'd share it with you all!

To be honest no. The bonnet at 30 quid isn't bad though!

I have bought parts from DV before and found them to be OK when you are stood infront of them, but I've found it depends who you get on the phone as to what the customer service is like when you ring. I've been happy with the parts I've bought and had no real issues with the staff, but I have also walked away from the place when they have told me the price of some parts or the part is not as described.

Spoken to them a few times, never been very helpful & frequently comedy pricing!
Seen few good things written about them but a lot of negative, all IMHO

The biggest issue was the £3.10 discount and being told if I didnt like the bonnet and inconvenienced them
I'd have to pay more!

Their arrogance belongs in the mid nineteen nieties, but they were crap then, too. Even when it was Steve and Jason they were crap and the new staffs attitudes are comical.

They work on the one born every minute principle, I think.

Had he asked on here first he wouldn't have bothered going. I was told £75 for a bonnet, and that was reduced from £100... so they said. I got one from Lodge Sports in Manchester for £30. Steve (at Lodge Sports) is a decent bloke and doesn't rip you off.

Hi Folks = I've used DV on a few times and always had good service - posted me stuff I had requested (with a photo item) and arrived to spec - down here to Cape Town...

Different context I suspect Dave. Id imagine that parts are difficult to find and that prices are high there? I suppose that Pat Garvan would find their parts cheap in Aus too, but here they are comically expensive and they have a very, very poor attitude towards their customers.

I suspect that this has been copied by new staff from the existing staff but its desperately unprofessional. I remember one soft lass telling me (after quoting me £500 plus VAT for a worn grey-beige trim set!) that they didnt allow Jason to do deals now because he gave evrything away and was a fool - but he is a partner and it was Jasons fathers money which bankrolled the business when they fist started in the bomb-proof bean factory.

If they were good for you then Im glad, but on the whole Id advise people to avoid them.

I've found them awful when you ring up with a "can't be bothered attitude". 2 or 3 times I have been told they will call me back in ten minutes but when I have called back hours later no one seems to remember my call

Also on eBay they sell under Douglas Valley and also Steve Strange which I can't understand??
