Post subject:  cracking sunroof

hi all does anybody know if the sunroof cracks at the section where the arms to rise it go in ??.
While looking for the arm for my heater flap that i appear to have lost , cause i had the dash out yet again last week looking for eart prob (sorted now) i found the dreaded wet patch passanger side rear of seat, after finding it ,same night it poured down so i sat and watched the water driping in from roof at front and rear so put bucket and plastic bags on seat to protect them came in then searched sunroof leak .
altho i couldent figure out at first how to get sunroof off (another search) i know how to do it now so got some mig wire got as far as one rear drain clear other rear blocked dident take sunroof off as it was raining again all week while i was off .
I have been using her as daily driver school run ect with bucket and bags in back ect so today when i picked son up from school as im on nights son asked me what button was for on console as ther was no picture on it ,press it i said oh its the sunroof and brought it too the down position , so when i got home and looking at weather forcast for next couple of days i thought id better tape a plastic bag over the roof and while puttin on said bag looked a bit close at the paint which i assume had chipped off over the years and it looks like a stress fracture in the metal ?? so iv took a photo and bagged her up so to speak .
sorry could of just asked question in 3 lines lol
ps any one got a little plastic arm for heater flap still cant find it

My sunroof also leaks in heavy rain and the car wash, the drain holes aren't blocked as I rodded them and it also has new seals.

The sunroof is fibre glass as it has a couple of chips around the edge which can be seen when the seal is taken off your is probably fibre glass too as it has a crack in it.

I just taped mine up with red insulation tape which stops the leak and doesn't look to bad until I can solve the leak which is what you could try for now.

I took the car to the garage and vacuumed up the puddle of water which stopped the windows misting up

You might find that in heavy rain, rhe water isn,t drained away quick enough and the level in the channel rises. It then goes up inside the inner seal and over the lip the seal sits on. Or if the two seals don,t meet it can go over the seal. Took a long time to work this out. It then soaks into the b pillar vinyl, down through the rear panel and into the carpet

That looks a pretty nasty crack it may be worth getting a good used one in guards red.

I think my leak is down to after market seals as the sunroof doesn't fit flush like it use to with the old seals so stay away from cheaper seals if you decide to replace them.

Had a sill on my turbo which sat proud. my S that i was parting out, never leaked, even with out laches and cogs. swaped sills and the turbo start to leaked. Tried a mix between the 2 sills. Couldn't get it right. Sit flush like it did on my S. after 8 attemps at refitting both inner and outer sills I got the leak to stop.

It was the inner sill. Water was making its way up and over. Vaseline and really work the sill clamping it tight to the lip as you go. Could be this.

The outside sill on my turbo was new as previous owner told a few month after this ordeal
