Hi everyone,

New owner here having picked up my 944 Turbo a few weeks ago. It's my first foray into Porsche ownership and so far I'm loving the character of the car. She's really not without her flaws in every area and the colour is a Marmite question for most. The car was originally an S2 and received a 220hp Turbo engine swap a few years back. Nevertheless I think it's a good base to work from. Having had the all important sills replaced and belts & rollers done in the last year along with a whole host of other maintenance I felt it was worth a shot. Long term plans are to nurse her back to good health mainly to include sorting a couple of oil leaks, some bushes and some bodywork with a view to having her ready for a Promax Stage 2 kit at some point next year. No doubt you'll be hearing from me shortly with all sorts of whining questions and pleas for help :D

Thanks tr7v8. I'm also fond of the colour combo (Tahoe Blue I believe) with the white interior but as I say people either think it's gorgeous or garish. Job list should keep me busy for some time to come but the first bit of tinkering over the weekend was very satisfying

I think that colour suits the lines, you can order the new Boxster in a similar shade.

Lots of help on here when you need it. :)

I've just re-read my first post and realised something extraordinary. I completely forgot that my previous car was a 944 S2 convertible and yet I've said first foray into Porsche ownership

I guess an S2 convertible is a somewhat different car to a Turbo coupe but that is a terrible demonstration of short term memory

I suppose I was thinking new to the forum and new to a coupe/turbo. I never previously felt the urge to fettle with the S2 as it was only ever a summer car (owned since March) and so never came across TIPEC

Gosh what a start

Hello and welcome, looks like you like blue cars :thumbleft: , 220 bhp turbo into a S2 is unusual, go enjoy

I am pretty sure your S2 converted to turbo has been in my workshop before... Not sure if it was for just a service, or if the owner had issues, but if you PM me the current reg and chassis number, I can tell you what it came in for.

Welcome to the world of boost!

Indeed it did Jon, previous owner brought it in for a 48k service and a few other bits. Been meaning to drop you a message as will need to arrange a visit at some point. Will PM you later tonight when I have more time as I have a few questions. Cheers

My s2 was te same colour.

I may be in the minority but definitely thaink that's the best colour for the 944.

Metallic blue is a lovely colour for a Porsche, here's my first 924 from way back in the early eighties:
