Hi all, I have had a 1982 944 2.5 auto sat in my back garden for some time now, I did post on here some time ago asking what I should do with it. But last Friday I decided that the old girl does not want to go to the scrap yard in the sky just yet.
But I have now come unstuck and can’t get the engine running; there is fuel but no spark.

Things I have done so far:-

There is power to the coil. (BLACK WIRE 12V)
New coil fitted.
DME relay checked working fine.
DME computer has power and earths are fine.

What’s not working:-

As I understand the green wire on the coil is controlled by the DME unit and the DME earths this wire to create the spark, this is not happening.

Problem:-

I was thinking maybe it needs a signal from other sensors, i.e. crank sensor but then the DME is firing the injectors so that sensor must be ok?
Please could someone help as I am banning my head into a brick wall.
Thanks Richie :bom:

Do a google for Clarkes garage as their is a good fault finding chart on there. I'm away from my desktop so can't find the link.

Thanks for the link, had a good look through that site, but does not help my particular problem.
Looked at the Haynes Manual and it says that the green wire coning off the coil goes to the DME I think that I will check this wire and see if that’s the problem. Ordered a new DME relay just in case the newer one I have is playing up.

Thanks Richie
