Marek's are far better than Simon's, but they cost a lot more too. Someone had a pair of Marek's vented wings fitted a while ago and started a fitting thread. They looked smart but he spent what youll save not going to an OPC in preparation.

sorry for being blonde but opc?

well after the condition of the supposed good shell i'm going to sort my shell out so it will be having a full respray, if the more expensive wings are bolt on good then I will get them as its worth the difference and to not have them rust again.

I decided to change my front wings to fibreglass. My original ones were in vgc with no rust and I stupidly sold them and changed them to the fibreglass ones. I bought the wings second hand. The fit is absolutely terrible even after playing around with them. Not only that but they are weaker aswell.

If its for a race car then no probs as you won't be that bothered about the fit but I would not recommend for a road car. My ones are similar to the cheaper ends on eBay.

I would try and get a good set of standard genuine wings.

I've had a read at the other thread on here about the wings, I think i'll end up going with the fibreglass one's purely for the fact i'm fed up with rust on the car and if they can't rust better plus i'd like to lose a bit of weight off the front end.

Pete,
I thought the same as you when I bought mine. The weight difference is very little. If you get a good set of steel wings and keep on top of them then they shouldn't rust.

Fibreglass wings get spider cracks all over them aswell. Mine have done this already.

I thought everyone else warning about fibreglass wings was being picky but it is almost impossible to get the wings to fit well, I wasted money on these and am regretting it hugely.

I sold some porsche bits to a guy that used to race and he mentioned he had a mint set of wings for an early 944. I'm off on holiday now but will dig out his email for you if its of interest?
