Hi all, interested in knowing if most 944's still have stone guards. Mine currently has none although I have just purchased some new ones which I will install. Main reason I am putting mine back on is to cover some imperfections when the originals were removed.

Quite a few 944s do, although they do tend to age (remember that the youngest 944 is now over 20 years old) and crack and/or begin to yellow, resulting in people taking them off (and painting the area), or painting them black to disguise wear and tear.

Neither of my 944s came with them, although my S2 had seen a full respray with my Turbo have had new sills fitted at some point not too long ago.

I didn't have mine replaced after a recent respray.Yes I know I will get stonechips but I dont want to cover the whole car in stoneguards,I think they look horrible so every now and then I 'll have to have a bit of paintwork touched up and I'll be in just the same position as owners of other cars which don't come with stoneguards.

Still got the originals on my 89 but they are as FortyFourSuperTwo describes; knackered!

I have some replacement ones however I am not certain if to put them on or not. Will cover the odd blemish but worried how they will look.

Left them off my S when it was painted black, and the lumpy paint on the sill, much cleaner. Did get a slight rash not huge chips, my wheels fill the arches so much more chance of chips
