Hi all, noticed today when I press the button to open the rear hatch it will not release to open it. It still makes the normal noise but just will not release. Can still undo it via the key but this has confused me. Any thoughts.

It would be worth having someone press the switch while you watch the lock mechanism to see that it is all working. Is the hatch a bit sticky when using the key? If so possibly you need to adjust the pins on the hatch as sometimes they stick a little. Or possibly the struts aren't lifting the hatch enough to open it before it locks again.

I have done the someone pressing while I observe at the back. As I see it the ring in the hole should expand which is what it does when I use the key however when pressing the button nothing moves at all. I can feel and hear something in each of the hole areas though. It worked fine a few days back and I have done nothing except remove the door card to look at why the drivers window is not working.

There's a little plastic clip on the motor near the drivers rear light that can snap/come un-clipped which will give you the same symptoms
