My S2 is now ready for a calliper rebuild have got all the bits ready (ie repair kit with new plates/screws etc) who do you recommend? ( to send off) |

Olli in Finland does a good job I believe although you may not need the bits you have as he supplies them too. Search for the young mans first Porsche thread - sorry might be here or "the other forum" |

Any idea who does the calipers for the early 944s? Those guys seem to only do 4/6 pot and I wouldn't mind a minty fresh set a all four corners |

I am just waiting for mine to be returned from www.brake-Caliper-painting.com had all 4 refurbed, high end painted and Porsche logo's |

I cant find the receipt at the mo, tho i do remember trying to save money by buying a seal kit from big red on ebay and finding not all the seals were the correct size. porschecalipers used genuine porsche seals that are quite pricey, but they fit. |

So I had a go myself.... Bead blasted them to perfection  This one is part way through:  Etch Primed and very happy   Two coats of high temp calliper paint... not so happy. Uneven finish, surface hasn't settled as it should have.... kicking myself for using brush application rather than spray despite some convincing arguments for the brush.... Even less happy as it seems some residual brake fluid has leaked from the new untightened nipples and lifted the paint and primer....     Suggestions on rectifying this are very welcome! |

Sometimes these enamels take an age to cure properly. You can only re-coat at two points in the cure - within a short time of the initial application (when the paint is tacky but not runny) , or when the paint is fully cured. Certainly trying to flatten this type of paint before it's properly hard will end up in a sticky bally mess. You could just strip it off and start again though ... G |
