Depending on how worn your old key was you might be able to open the door with another key of similar shape, failing that you could try opening the hatch by pressing down over the locking pins then pulling up you may find if they are worn they will pop up and you can go in from the hatch. If that doesn't work maybe remove the rear quarter light. |

Hopefully somebody may be able to come up with a solution to The Red Barons problem ...... but it might be an idea if suggestions are sent to him via “PM” and not for all and sundry to read how to break into a 944. |

One resoan I'm glad my boot unlocks my doors as well. I think there's a coded message in the above. Rear lights can't be removed from outside the car |

This happened to a member of the Scottish region at a show a few years back. I won’t name names. He had to sacrifice a window. |

This happened to me recently and I managed to get into the car by pulling one of the rear quarter windows out. If you've got new seals it will be impossible. But.. start by removing the metal trim round the rear quarter window if you have it. then start at the top corner near the drivers door and pull the seal away from the body as much as you can. get something plastic in there so you dont damage the paint (I actually used a screwdriver but was v.careful). Maybe use a towel to protect it too. See if you can get the plastic object right under the seal. Gently start to pull/prise the window out. WD40/washing up liquid might help if you can get it under the seal. Remember, your not trying to remove just the glass. But both the glass and seal as one. |

I thought the AA / RAC did this sort of thing. |

JW590 wrote: I thought the AA / RAC did this sort of thing. Yes the RAC did this for me once on my van years ago. They use an inflatable strong balloon which bends the top of the door just enough to feed in a coathanger to pull the lock. Most lock buttons are not shaped for this trick to work though! Another myth is that half a tennis ball placed over the lock and hit hard, will force enough air into the lock to push it up. |

+1 for the RAC. I had an old Audi A4 that started play up after i drove it into a lake (dont ask). It would lock the dorrs for no particular reason. RAC used a air balloon cushion to prize the door open enough to fit an arm down to open the door. All done with minimal damage to ones pride and joy. |

+1 for the AA / RAC. They did a superb job for me a while back when, in a moment of inspired stupidity, I managed to lock my house keys in my Golf and my Golf keys in my house... |

I did, however, have my 944 keys so at least I had somewhere comfy to sit whilst waiting for the AA to turn up ![]() |

We all know it was you. I may have locked my keys in my old CRX many years ago. The AA sorted it with a coathanger in no time. |

Metal coat hanger bent in 2 a hook, feed down the window scraper won't work on a 944, I believe, ? |
