the foam from the back rest will be needed so remove it from the cover ![]() A closer look at the bolsters reveals the foam is split ![]() Started by cutting the foam into a square so it is easy to bond in some foam ![]() |

Cut a new piece of foam and bonded it in place with spray contact adhesive ![]() the split was at a point where the foam is very thin so bonding was more difficult so fitted some wadding under the foam and then glued the foam together using the wadding as a patch on the back ![]() ![]() |

The foam was then trimmed so it matches the contour of the seat (an electric carving knife is best.....I would not dream of using the wife's whilst she's watching the olympics ![]() ![]() Then I covered the whole repair with trunk lining ![]() Starting to look like a proper job ![]() |

I decided to fit the passenger side cover onto the drivers seat so there is a nice thick piece of leather on the bolster Start by turning the cover inside out then make a pocket in the top as shown in the picture.......put this over the seat.....take care to position this PERFECTLY most people tend to fit the cover to far forward which causes wrinkles later......in the foam you will see the imprint of the seams make sure your seams follow the same line ......If its not right do it again the futher you go the more you have to back track... ![]() ![]() The cover will go on easily just keep unrolling it and massaging it as you go...do not pull.....It's more important to follow the original seams than to strectch the cover ![]() |

Covers on BUT it may not be visible on the photo but the RH bolster foam as been compressed and the cover is too baggy....this will get get worst as I add tension to the listing's........so cover is removed on the Bolster only and I add a layer of 3mm foam and another layer of trunk lining...... ![]() More Trunk liner bolster has to look full ![]() |

And were nearly done ...pull back of the cover over the spikes and pull down with a cable tie ![]() And the same with the back flap...make sure you refit the foam sheets it stops folds and fixings telegraphing through the cover ![]() |
