I’ve looked into these many times but never quite taken the plunge and bought one. Saratoga Tops are incredibly rare over here in the UK, but fairly common on the sunny West Coast of America. Common enough that there’s always a couple for sale online somewhere or other, anyhow.

There’s more than one type out there: A version for manual sunroof cars and one for electrically powered sunroof cars. Make sure you know which you’re buying. They were also available either in brown or grey tint. The grey is rarer.

Much like our dashboards, the plastic strip along the front of the Saratoga Tops is almost always cracked from years of sun exposure. The cracks are cosmetic, they don’t affect mounting strength or anything like that.

The seal around the edge of the roof is often old and knackered. The can be replaced with new, but it’s not cheap. There are supposedly seals intended for a couple of other car models which can be cut to fit very neatly.

The auction you linked to isn’t cheap. Saratoga Tops do sell for silly money, but usually around $750–850 plus shipping. A courier from the US to here is going to cost you around $350–400 for one of these things.

Just to add to Tony's bit above. One of my members has one, not fitted yet. The going price seem to be around £700 in the UK. But not seen one for sale here for a fair while. They do come up in the US but seem to fetch biggish money. I would guarantee knowing my luck that the shippers would break it getting into the UK.
